STRICTLY Come Dancing viewers were thrilled to have the show back – but many agreed there was something ‘missing’.
The long-running ballroom series made its eagerly awaited return to screens tonight with the launch show.
But fans couldn’t help but notice a glaring absence on their telly – they were all missing Oti Mabuse, who quit the series earlier this year.
And they took to social media to commiserate with each other about the loss of their favourite pro.
“I miss Oti,” sobbed one.
“Me remembering Oti Mabuse quit #Strictly” wrote a second, followed by a gif of Will Ferrell having a tantrum in the movie Anchorman.
Referring to the new professionals who have joined the show, one fan said: “I’d still swap all four for Oti.”
“Just remembered that Oti has left,” another chipped in, as reality hit them.
A bereft fan agreed, saying: “Absolutely not be the same without Oti though.”
Oti confirmed she was leaving the popular series back in February, after seven years on the show.
The 32-year-old had been part of the BBC dancing show since 2015 and is the only professional to win the competition in two consecutive years.
Oti wrote on social media: “Never easy to say goodbye I have been part of the most amazing TV show, Strictly Come Dancing for the past seven years and it has been an incredible time.
“Lifting the glitter ball twice and having the best journey with all my celebrities, but also meeting and working with the best team, crew, producers, celebs and incredible professional dancers! You are my family and I adore you all forever. Thank you @[email protected] and @jasongilkison for truly believing in me.”
She continued: “I’m honestly so grateful to The BBC and will always remember that Strictly and BBC brought me to the UK – which I now call home and I have learnt and grown so much. – Thank You from the bottom of my heart.
