Man, 78, dies following hit-and-run in south London


78-year-old man has died following a hit-and-run in south London.

Police rushed to Courtenay Road in North Cheam following reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian at 6.18pm on Thursday, November 17.

Juan Veiga-Vidal, from Sutton, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

The car failed to stop at the scene and police are trying to locate the driver.

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
