A man has been charged in relation to a fatal crash near Winton in Southland last month.
Police today said they had arrested a 40-year-old man on drink driving-related charges following the crash on State Highway 6 near Lochiel on February 25.
The man is due to appear in Invercargill District Court on March 21.
Officers were called to the two-vehicle crash on the Winton-Lorneville Highway about 12.20am on the 25th.
A person with critical injuries was taken to Southland Hospital, where they died.
Two other people were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Police today said one person remained in hospital in a serious condition.
